HOUSE

dE kelders

Proposed New Dwelling

The design brief for this project was to create a harmonious space that draws inspiration from earth-based materials, while incorporating elements such as curves and arches. The client envisioned a building that would blend seamlessly with its surroundings, prioritizing sustainability, longevity, and energy efficiency.

The space is thoughtfully oriented to optimize the views and natural light, with careful consideration given to solar passive design. Large windows and strategically placed openings maximize daylight while minimizing the need for artificial lighting, promoting energy efficiency. The building's layout is designed to harness the warmth of the sun in colder months and provide shade during the summer, reducing the demand for heating and cooling.

The selection of materials focuses on durability and sustainability, ensuring that they not only stand the test of time but also improve with age. Locally sourced natural stones & timber with recycled clay bricks and lime plaster.
