House Sumner-Ivy
New Dwelling
"Even a brick wants to be something."
Louis Kahn
This split-level house in Hout Bay near Cape Town was originally intended to be constructed with Straw Bales. It was finally built with brick masonry.
The home maximizes natural light and harnesses passive solar design for year-round comfort.
All the timber used in this house was harvested from the site.
