New tourist facilities for de Hoop Nature Reserve, (World Heritage Site) Western Cape.
The brief consists of 3 x 12 Bed lodges and a 1 x 40 Bed lodge with conference & restaurant facilities. The completely off-grid development includes Photovoltaic, Hot water Solar heating, Wind power, Biogas on-site sewage treatment & LED lighting. Additional green technologies being used are Sandbag Construction, Planted roofs, Stone Construction, Thatch Roofs, Natural Pools with Constructed Wetlands, Moon phase Harvested Timber & non-toxic natural materials & finishes.
